The Library AND THE ARCHIVES
The Musée’s library, with its documentary collections and thousands of titles specializing in Québec art, is a unique research facility.
The library’s collections include general volumes, exhibition catalogues, artist monographs and audiovisual documents on the subject of art in Québec, the rest of Canada and from around the world. The library subscribes to numerous art, design and museum studies periodicals, in addition to receiving the catalogues of the major auction houses. The documentary collections contain some 13,000 biographical files along with files on museums, galleries and art associations in Québec. Archival and research holdings are also available for consultation.
The on-line catalogue of the library of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec can be consulted at CUBIQ, the Catalogue unifié des bibliothèques gouvernementales du Québec.
