Annual Fundraising Campaign
The biggest fundraising campaign in the history of cultural philanthropy in Québec
The Fondation du MNBAQ’s +D’ART DANS NOS VIES campaign seeks to support the MNBAQ during a crucial phase of its history. We are making a promise for the future to all Quebecers, who will inherit three lasting legacies:
- The biggest public collection of artist Jean Paul Riopelle’s works;
- The Espace Riopelle (Riopelle Space), a distinctive new pavilion that will enrich visitors’ experience through new major exhibitions, interactive workshops, and memorable cultural events;
- The education through art centre, an indispensable educational hub that will focus on accessibility and inclusion by offering educational activities devoted to the family, the school environment, and the community sphere.
Participate in this transformative
project by donating today.
A homage to Riopelle, a source of pride for Quebecers
The new pavilion, which harmonizes with the landscape and the MNBAQ’s history, will offer unrestricted views of the Battlefields Park and the St. Lawrence River. This emblematic site will embody Riopelle’s vision and his ties with Québec City. The welcoming, accessible two-level Espace Riopelle will harmoniously integrate the site of the MNBAQ. It will be designed to enhance accessibility and foster broader inclusion, especially for the groups participating in the MNBAQ’s educational activities.
An innovative educational project
The education through art centre will stimulate the educational activities in the MNBAQ’s key sectors, i.e., families, schools, adults, culture, and communities. Spaces devoted to reception, relaxation, and educational exhibitions will be found throughout the MNBAQ. Enriched by the Riopelle collection, the centre will propose inclusive, accessible programs that offer innovative activities for everyone, with sensitive mediation adapted to each group’s needs.

The means to match our ambitions
“The Fondation du MNBAQ is undertaking a wide-ranging campaign. In addition to contributing to the creation of the new Espace Riopelle pavilion, an educational project of unprecedented scope, the new education through art centre will encompass all our educational activities. Your support for this project will play a key role in achieving this bold vision, thereby contributing to the preservation of our artistic heritage and the cultural enrichment of our community, while offering invaluable educational opportunities.”– Fabrice Alcayde, President and CEO of the Fondation du MNBAQ
“The Espace Riopelle at the heart of the museum complex will give concrete expression to our vision of a dynamic, inclusive museum. The building’s outstanding location will help to make it a site conducive to exploration and reflection while enriching the iconic collection of Jean Paul Riopelle’s work. Every contribution is essential to the creation of this space, which will underpin varied cultural discoveries and enhance the MNBAQ’s international profile.”– Jean-Luc Murray, Director General of the MNBAQ
